CSGO is often in talks for the number of crazy mods and hacks players come up with to make the game more enjoyable. You can literally choose from thousands of maps, skins, configurations files and mods available on the community.

Among all this, I’m sure you must have come across someone playing music over the in-game voice chat. This can be songs, sound effects, small audio clips or anything. If you’d like to hop aboard as well, here’s how to play music while playing CSGO

While playing music or sound effects can be fun, we suggest you take care of other people on your team or the server who might not enjoy it as much as you do. Always remember to be respectful to your fellow players.

Now there are a bunch of utilities that can help you with this, but we’re going to use Source Live Audio Mixer better known as SLAM.

Step 1: Go to the Slam website and download the latest available version of the tool. At the time of writing this article, it’s 1.5.4

Step 2: You’ll get a zip file as a download. Unzip the file to a convenient location and start Slam.

Step 3: Make sure that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is selected in the game dropdown. Click on Import and browse to the audio file you’d like to play. Slam will automatically import and convert the file. You can also click on the Youtube icon and paste in a Youtube link from which it’ll automatically download and convert the song.

Alternatively, you can just drag and drop your files in the CSGO folder inside the root directory. However, make sure that the file is in WAV format and not MP3.

Step 4: Once you’re done importing songs, here’s how Slam will look. We suggest turning down the volume to about 70% because it is a bit too loud at full volume. To set the volume, right-click on a track and select Set Volume from the dropdown list.

You can also go ahead and change the Play Key. This is the key you’ll press to play music in-game. If you’d like, you can also assign individual binds to different files for quick access. You can even trim the songs to your favourite parts.

Step 5: After you’re done setting up, just hit the Start button on SLAM and launch CSGO.

Step 6: Once you’re inside, press the ` key to open up the console. Type in exec slam

Step 7: Type in ‘la’ to bring up your track-list. You can select any track you want by typing either a tag or the track number in the console.

Step 8: Use the bind that you set as the Play Key and have fun listening to your favourite tunes while getting those one taps.
