How to add or remove open to work on Linkedin?

The open-to-work feature on LinkedIn allows you to actively tell others that you are looking for a new job and are open to contact. This helps recruiters to contact you efficiently.

This article explains how you can remove open to work from your LinkedIn account and also how to add it back through the following guides.


How to remove or edit open to work on LinkedIn on desktop?

Here are the steps to remove the open to work feature on LinkedIn if you have already allowed it.

Step 1: Go to Me > View Profile to open your Linkedin profile. Next, click on the inverted pen button on the Open to work option.

Step 2: On the prompt window, click on the Delete from profile button.

You can edit your choices from this prompt window.

How to remove or edit open to work on the LinkedIn app?

Follow the steps given below:

  • Tap on your profile pic in the top left corner, then tap on View profile.
  • After that, tap on the inverted pen icon in the Open to work box.
  • Next, select Delete from profile. You can also edit the preferences here.

How to add open to work on LinkedIn on a desktop?

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Click on Me > View Profile.

Step 2: Next, select the Open to option below your profile pic space and then from the drop-down menu, select Finding a new job.

Step 3: Then you will have to edit or add the job title that you prefer. To remove an existing title simply click on the cross button next to the job title and to add a new job title click on the plus and then enter your job title.

Step 4: Edit your Workplace. Here, you will see three options — On-site, Hybrid or Remote. Select the On-site option if want to go to the office or select the Remote option if want to work from home. The Hybrid option is the middle path and allows you flexibility in terms of office travelling.

Step 5: Add the job location/locations.

Step 6: Finally, select the start date and the job type. If you want to start the job immediately, click on Immediately, I’m actively applying or else select Flexible, I’m casually browsing.

Step 7: Are you available full-time or on a contract or want an internship? These options can be selected from the next line. Select the most appropriate one.

Step 8: Now, choose the people who you want to allow to see that you are open to work. In case, you don’t want the people of your company to see what you’re up to then select Recruiters only or if you are comfortable letting the people at your company know that you are looking for a new job then you can select All Linkedin members. This option will also add the #open to work frame on your profile picture. Finally, click on Add to profile to apply the settings.

How to add open to work on the LinkedIn app?

Here are the steps:

  • Tap on the profile picture and then select View Profile.
  • Tap on Open to option from the profile and then tap on Finding a new job from the menu.
  • Fill in your desired job titles, workplace preferences, job locations and the date on which you want to start the job. Also, fill in the job types.
  • After that choose who sees you’re open and then tap on Add to profile to add open to work on your profile.
