If your work requires taking screenshots regularly then you know that it’s not always of the full screen or window screenshots that you have to capture, sometimes you need to capture partial screenshots or screenshots of small dialogue boxes on the screen as well.

Use Snip and Sketch
Windows Snip and Sketch app comes with Windows and it is one of the easiest ways to take screenshots on your PC. If you want to take a partial screenshot on PC through Snip and Sketch app then follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the app from the start menu and search for Snip and Sketch.
Step 2: Click on the New button at the top left corner of the screen.
Step 3: It will open the capturing tool from where you can select the rectangular snip, freeform snip, window snip, or fullscreen snip.
Step 4: Once you click on the screen the screenshot will be captured and opened in the Snip and Sketch app.
The other way is that you can simply press the Windows+Shift+S key simultaneously to open the capturing tool directly without opening the app.

Use Snipping tool
The Snipping tool comes with Windows for a long time. Windows actually trying to move the users of the Snipping tool to the Snip and Sketch app, so whenever you open the Snipping tool a message will appear that the snipping tool is moving.
- Open the Snipping tool from the start menu.
- Click on the Mode option and select the mode you can select the rectangular snip, freeform snip, window snip, or fullscreen snip for the screenshots you want to take.
- The Screenshot will be captured and opened in the snipping tool app.
Use other apps like Snagit
Snagit is a screen capture and screen recording software, it has amazing features which allow you to edit the screenshots before opening them in the app, you can select the space on the screen as per your own preference and then click on the capture button to capture the screenshot.
- Open the Snagit and press the designated key for capturing screenshots, the default designated key to capturing screenshots is the Print screen button.
- Click on the screen to capture the screenshot.
- Edit or crop the screenshot as per your preference and then click on the Camera icon in the toolbar to finalise the capture.
