Instagram is by far one of the most popular social media platforms in the world right now. However, no matter the refinement, every tech product suffers the occasional bugs and glitches, and Instagram is no exception.
In this article, we’re talking about the Instagram loading screen issue, its causes and the solutions you can try out.
Why does this happen?
While it’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause of the error, it most likely happens because of the following reasons:
- Instagram is down.
- Internet connectivity issues at your end.
- Outdated Instagram app.
- Outdated phone software.

How to fix this?
Here are a few solutions you can try out.
Restart your phone
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, restarting your device can do wonders with seemingly random issues. If you’re not getting your Instagram notifications, try restarting your phone to see if it fixes your issue.
Check Instagram servers
If Instagram servers are having some issues, then there is nothing you can do to fix this error. You will have to wait for the servers to come back online. The servers generally get fixed in a few hours. To check if Instagram servers are working correctly, head to Downdetector.
Update Instagram
Using an older version of an app can cause glitches. To fix this issue, go to the Play Store > Apps and Games. If there is an update available, update the app and try to restart the app.
Make it a point to update the apps as soon as it arrives.
Re-install Instagram
If none of the above-mentioned steps worked for you, reinstalling the Instagram app might help your case. Uninstall the app and then head over to the Play Store to reinstall. Remember to clear the app’s cache and data in the device’s storage before uninstalling it so that no corrupt cached files are accessed by Instagram when reinstalled.
Reset your network connection
Not having access to the internet can cause Instagram not to work. To fix this, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset WiFi, mobile and Bluetooth.
