How to manage subscriptions on the iPhone?

Free trials have become second nature of any paid app or online service out there and the sheer convenience of trying out something before we actually start paying for it is unmatched. However, with so many subscriptions on offer, if you try out new services every now and then, you could collect quite a few subscriptions on hand.

We tend to subscribe to an app, giving our card details, for using its free trial period but often forget to unsubscribe it in due time. This can be because of various reasons like no upcoming payment reminder from the App Store or from the app company, the unknown process of unsubscribing from the App store and so on.

Fortunately, Apple makes it easy to keep track of the billing period and cancel subscriptions as per our liking.  In this article, we discussed how you can view and cancel your subscriptions on the iPhone, followed by guides to help you change your subscription or re-subscribe to a cancelled plan.

How to view and cancel a subscription on your iPhone?

Most subscription renew automatically unless you cancel them at least 24 hours before the free trial period ends. If you choose to cancel a subscription in the middle of the subscribed period, you could still keep using the services until the next billing period.

However,  in some cases, if you cancel a subscription during the free trial period, you might lose access to the services immediately.

To see or cancel a subscription, open Settings app and follow the steps below.

  • Tap on your name.
  • Select Subscription,
  • You can see all the currently running subscriptions under the heading Active. Already cancelled or used subscriptions can be seen listed under Expired. Tap on the active subscription you want to cancel.
  • Select Cancel Subscription.

If this method doesn’t work for you and you can’t find your subscriptions on the iPhone, try the alternative method below.
