One has to be living under bedrock if they’ve never heard of Minecraft before. This is a game on which you can spend hours and hours all by yourself and never realise.The basic premise of the game is to survive while building/constructing any structure or functional object you desire. The game features cross-console compatibility so you can enjoy it with all your friends on their respective console but this will need you to have a wireless connection.

With over 1 billion downloads ever since its release in 2013, Temple Run 2 outdid the previous version.
The change of scenario from the dark Aztec Temple was something that overhauled the entire feel of the game, but the basic mechanics from the previous version were maintained and improved upon. If you’re looking to kill time then this game is sure to keep you busy.

How can one not include Candy Crush Saga in an article about the top games as it has been one of the highest grossing games since its inception as it’s played by people from varying generations.
Its simple, colourful candy crushing game mechanic makes it seem very approachable, and even seniors get a good time out of it. The inclusion of a stage system surely keeps one stuck to the game in hopes of finishing all the levels.

Subway Surfers
Just like Candy Crush, Subway Surfers is another household name and can already be found on most iOS devices. With Jake and his friends running along the subway tracks, we control the character to avoid the chasing cop and his dog while jumping over all sorts of obstacles and dodging the incoming trains.

Fruit Ninja
Fruit Ninja by Halfbrick Studios is a game with a fruity twist on the hack and slash genre. The game requires you to slice up fruits that show up on your screen with swiping motions. Missing a fruit will get you a strike, out of a total of three strikes. The third strike ends the game.
Doodle Jump
As the name suggests, Doodle Jump revolves around you jumping from platform to platform in a doodled world while avoiding monsters to get as high as possible with your character.
The game has several theme options available which come with different looks for platforms and monsters providing variety to the users.
Alto’s Adventure
An infinite side-scrolling with the most appealing scenarios defines Alto’s Adventure. You play as Alto and his friends who are on their journey down the Alpine hills of their world while encountering the different conditions and obstacles and saving llamas.

Plants vs Zombies and Plants vs Zombies 2
This game by PopCap is a concept that plays out in the most fun way possible. In this game, you are required to grow plants on a patch of lawn to protect yourself from the zombies who are out to get you.
While the original PVZ followed an elementary gameplay system with minimal different day time conditions, the second version came with more variations and a time travel theme to it.
Overall these games are amazing to play and planning your Sunflowers and Peashooters out is more intense than it sounds.

Dream League Soccer 2019
Not really a FIFA competitor in true terms, Dream League Soccer 2019 comes with above average graphics, good commentary, and original player names. It is the closest you can get to a football experience while playing offline on your device.
In this game, you play as the manager of a brand new team, and your goal is to keep progressing towards the top league of the game.
The general gameplay is how you’d expect any football game to play out and if you’re a fan of the sport this game will surely not disappoint.

Badland
Accolades like the Apple Design Award 2013 and the iPad Game Of The Year Award 2013 speak for themselves.
Badland is a game with breathtaking visuals with unique gameplay and atmosphere. You play as a forest dweller who is traversing through the forest that may seem to have come out of a beautiful fairytale but something has gone wrong, and it’s up to you to find out.

2048 by Ketchapp is game that may seem simple on the outside but will suck you in. The objective of the game is to form a 2048 tile, but the game continues even after you get this goal.
It works with basic mathematics and is undoubtedly a fantastic time killer for someone who likes calculations.
Flow Free
The last game of this article. Free Flow, is another one that uses logic; it requires you to connect similar-coloured dots efficiently and to make sure that the entire grid is covered.
It’s undoubtedly a game that can have someone scratching their head when they’re unable to figure out a proper sequence to move forward.
