OnePlus unveils Nord 2 5G starting at INR 27999 and Buds Pro

OnePlus Nord 2 5G was unveiled at the company’s online launch event on Thursday. The phone starts at INR 27,999 (€399) and will go on sale on July 28 in Europe and India with early access exclusively for Red Cable and Amazon Prime members in India starting July 26.

Nord 2 5G is powered by a modified version of the Mediatek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC clocked up to 3.00 GHz and comes with up to 12GB RAM coupled with 256GB UFS3.1 internal storage and dual 5G SIM slots along with WiFi 6.

You get a 6.3-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, a triple camera setup at the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 main lens, all brought together by OxygenOS 11.3. There’s also a 4500 mAh battery in there as well which comes with 65-watt fast charging.

Similar to the Android One program, the Nord 2 5G will support two years of Android feature updates and up to three years of security updates.


OnePlus Nord 2 5G price and release date

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be available in three variants starting from 28 June 2021. Indian buyers also get three months of Spotify Premium subscription for free alongwith the purchase.

OnePlus Buds Pro

The company has also announced the Oneplus Buds pro which comes with adaptive noise cancellation that can filter out up to 40db of sound from your surroundings.

The earbuds can last up to 31 hours with the charging case and seven without them with ANC disabled. When you switch ANC on, the earbuds get five hours of playback and 23 hours with the case. and can be charged for use up to 10 hours in 10 minutes. The case supports wireless charging as well.

They’re also IP55 water-resistant so you don’t have to worry about any splashes here and there. There are three microphones on each bud that filter out your voice so you can be heard more clearly over calls.

The drivers are 11mm in size and the buds also feature something called a Zen Mode that can play white noise through the earbuds helping users sleep or meditate. Lastly, there’s support for Oneplus fast pair which is very similar to how AirPods pair up with iPhones.

The buds are priced at $/€149 available from August 25 with preorders starting on August 18 in Europe. The Oneplus Buds Pro will go on sale in the US on September 1.

The price and release date for the OnePlus Buds Pro in India haven’t been released yet. We’ll update this section when it is.
