Move the emails to Trash
The first thing you have to do is move the emails to the trash and then you can permanently delete them from the trash. Here’s how you can move emails to trash.
Moving single email to trash
To move a single email to trash follow the steps below:
Step: Hover over the email you want to move to trash, few icons will appear. Click on the Trash can icon to move the email to the trash.
Move multiple emails to Trash
If you want to move multiple emails to the trash follow the steps below:
Step 1: Select the emails one by one by clicking on the images beside the emails.
Alternate Step: If you wish to select all emails and move them to the trash, you can simply checkmark the box at the top of your emails.
Step 2: After selecting the emails, you can either click on the Trash can icon at the top or press the T key on your keyboard to move those emails to the trash.
Delete emails permanently
Now, to delete the emails permanently you have to delete those emails from the trash can, we will show you how to do that:
Step 1: Click on the Trash option available in the sidebar.
Step 2: You can select the emails one by one by clicking on the images beside the emails, if you want to select all emails you can just checkmark the box at the top of your emails.
Step 3: After selecting the emails, click on the Permanently delete (cross in a circle) icon at the top or you can press the Ctrl + Backspace keys on your keyboard to permanently delete those emails from your Protonmail.
Permanently deleting emails on ProtonMail involves moving them to the Trash and then emptying the Trash folder. This ensures that the emails are irretrievably removed from your account. Once you permanently delete emails from the trash, they’re unrecoverable. Make sure you only delete emails you’re certain you don’t need anymore.
