Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 launched in India for INR 57,900: 15 key features

On Thursday, Samsung launched its flagship Android tablet, the 2-in-1 Galaxy Tab S4, in India and it will retail at INR 57,900. The new Samsung top-end tab is equipped with an S-Pen and supports Samsung Dex.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will be available from October 18 onwards on Samsung’s online store and selected offline retail stores.

It will also be available exclusively on Amazon from October 20 onwards.

“We are happy to announce the launch of Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung’s flagship tablet that is designed for people who want to do more on the go — from home to office and everywhere in between,” said Aditya Babbar, General Manager, Mobile Business, Samsung India.

As part of the introductory offer, those buying the devices with HDFC credit cards can avail a cashback worth INR 5000. EMI is also available on HDFC debit cards and via Consumer Durable loans.

Customers using Jio 4G alongwith the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 can avail instant cashback on recharging with INR 198 or INR 299 plan. Double data benefits will also be granted to them, valid for the next four recharges.

  • Design: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 features a polished design and much like Pixel’s slate can be easily converted into a laptop using the keyboard accessory. It also sports the AKG branding at the back. It has the SIM tray, lock and volume buttons on the same side.
  • Display: The device features a 10.5-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) Super AMOLED 287ppi display
  • Processor: Galaxy Tab S4 is powered by the 10nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998; mobile PC platform) that clocks at speeds up to 2.35GHz and is supported by Adreno 540 GPU.
  • Memory and Storage: It comes in two variants, both with 4GB RAM but with 64GB and 256GB internal storage options, which are expandable up to 400GB via microSD card. (The 256GB variants currently hasn’t been launched in India)
  • Camera: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 sports a single lens 13MP rear camera with autofocus sensor and a 76-degrees field of view. The front camera is an 8MP lens with a larger field of view at 85-degrees. Both the cameras are accompanied by a flash.
  • Video: The tablet can record video at UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) at 30fps and playback at the same quality but at a higher frame rate of 60fps.
  • Audio: Galaxy Tab S4 comes with four speakers (2 at the top, 2 at the bottom), which are tuned by AKG and also surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology.

  • Battery: It is backed by a 7300mAh battery that supports fast charging and can last up to 16 hours of continuous video playback.
  • OS: Samsung’s flagship tablet runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, LTE Cat.16 DLCA, 4X4 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1, Gen 1.
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope, RGB, Proximity, Iris Scanner, Hall Sensor; GPS + GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo
  • Colours: The Galaxy Tab S4 comes in black and grey colours.
  • DeX: In dual mode, the Samsung DeX makes it easier to multi-task as the Galaxy Tab S4 can be connected to a bigger screen via an HDMI adapter. Even in standalone mode, you can enjoy PC-like interface without a connected monitor or the cover with integrated keyboard.
  • S-Pen: Pressure levels: 4096; Pen Tip diameter: 0.7 mm; Dimension: 138mm x 9.2mm
  • Device dimensions: 249.3 x 164.3 x 7.1mm/ 483 g (LTE)
