Change the date and time settings

To change the date and time settings, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu, then click on the System Settings option in the dropdown menu.

Step 2: In settings, click on the General option in the sidebar and then on the right side, click on Date & Time option.

Step 3: Turn the toggle on beside Set time and date automatically, and select the server address to time.apple.com. Lastly, turn the toggle on beside the Set time zone automatically using your current location.


Sign out of Apple ID

Some bugs and glitches can sometimes cause problems with the Apple ID and result in the errors like verification errors. Signing out of Apple ID and signing back can be an effective method to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu, then click on the System Settings option in the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Click on Apple ID and Sign Out. Then sign in again.

Get an Apple ID verification code

A temporary glitch can sometimes trigger the error connecting to the Apple ID server. Try signing in to your Apple ID from another device or icloud.com to fix it. However, you’ll need a verification or two-factor authentication code for this.

Usually, when you log into iCloud on one Apple device, it sends the verification code to your iPhone. But if you don’t have that device nearby or can’t receive the code, follow the steps below to get a code on your Mac.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu, then click on the System Settings option in the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Click on Apple ID and Password & Security.

Step 3: Click on Get a verification code button and then use that code to sign in to iCloud.com.


Reset your Apple ID password

If you’re sure you’re using the right password, it’s possible your password isn’t strong enough according to Apple’s standards or facing another authentication issue. This could be the reason why you can’t connect to the Apple ID server; try changing your Apple ID password. To reset the Apple ID password, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu, then click on the System Settings option in the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Click on Apple ID and then click on Password & Security.

Step 3: Click on the Change password button.

Step 4: Enter your old password, then enter a new one again to confirm it, then click on the Change button.
