The MMORPG game genre is full of action-packed fun games to enjoy, whether you’re playing on your PC or phone. That said, these games are often massively multiplayer, which means server issues are inevitably bound to happen.

In this article, we’re talking about Tower of Fantasy and its server error 5/10004, the causes behind the error and what you can do to fix the problem.

What causes this error?

The error is mostly caused by server crowding. However, other possible reasons include the following:

  • Internet connectivity issues.
  • Server issues from Tower of Fantasy

How to fix this error?

Here are seven fixes you can try out.

Check internet connection

Now’s also a good time to check whether or not you have an active internet connection. If you’re on WiFi, make sure you’ve got an active link and that there are no signal issues. On cellular data, ensure that it’s enabled and that you’re getting good network coverage.

What is WiFi 6 (802.11ax): Everything you need to know

Restarting your router can help get rid of a bunch of seemingly random internet and connectivity issues that may be hindering your connection to the game’s servers.

Try ethernet

As convenient as it might be, WiFi can sometimes be unstable, especially when playing online games. Try using a wired connection between your router and PC or console to see if that solves the constant connection error.

Disabling any proxies or VPNs that you might be using

Another relatively common reason people run into this issue is when they’re trying to connect to a host through a proxy or a VPN connection, and the host keeps on denying the connection request.

Several high-profile sites, including video games, often block connections coming over VPN to ensure a consistent gameplay experience. In such cases, the solution is pretty straightforward. You disable your proxy or VPN client and try connecting to the host again.

Check for server outages

Another rather common cause of such errors is a server outage from the service provider’s end. Check to see if Tower of Fantasy servers is online and running without issues. Since there’s no official server status page for the game yet, you can try visiting their official Twitter account for any updates.

Open the required ports and check firewalls

Many games use specific ports to securely communicate with their respective servers. If these ports are blocked on your router, you won’t be able to play online. This also applies to any firewalls you might have in place that could be blocking the game’s connection.

Since every router configuration is different, you’ll have to figure out your router settings on your own. We recommend checking the manual or visiting the router manufacturer’s site for instructions on opening ports on your particular router.

Restart the game

Closing the game completely, including the launcher and restarting it can also often resolve any login or connectivity issues you might be facing. Simply close every process related to the game (you can use Task Manager for the job) and restart it to see if that helps.

Spam login

A rather rudimentary solution to the problem is to just keep spamming the login button until the game lets you through. While this isn’t the most efficient way of getting by the problem and you aren’t as much about solving the problem as forcing it to resolve itself, this method ensures you log in as soon as a server spot becomes available.
