How to block someone on Tumblr?

You can either block someone on Tumblr via their profile, through messages or settings (only on PC).

Blocking someone on Tumblr’s app

Open the Tumblr app, go to the user profile/blog that you want to block and follow the steps mentioned below to block a Tumblr user.

• Tap on the Profile icon at the top-right of the screen.
• Then tap on Block from the options that appear.
• On the confirmation pop-up box, tap on Block.
• You’ll see a confirmation at the bottom of the next page once the user is successfully blocked.

Blocking someone on Tumblr’s website (on PC)

Method 1: Via user profile

Go to the profile of the user you want to block and click on the Profile icon at the top-right of the page. Then click on the Block option that appears.

Once the user is blocked, you’ll see a tick mark to the left of the Block option.

Method 2: Via settings

If you can’t access or find the user’s profile, go to the app’s settings to block someone on Tumblr.

Step 1: Click on the Profile icon at the top-right of the website. From the dropdown list, select Settings.

Step 2: On the next page, click on your primary blog from the side panel to the right.

Step 3: Then scroll down to the bottom and click on the box beside Blocked Tumblrs and insert the username of the Tumblr user you want to block. Once you find and select the user, click on the Block button.

How to unblock someone on Tumblr?

There are two methods to unblock someone on Tumblr — via their profile or the settings.

Unblocking someone on Tumblr’s app

Open the Tumblr app and follow the steps mentioned below to unblock a Tumblr user.

Method 1 via their profile

Go to the profile of the user you want to unblock and follow the steps mentioned below.

• Tap on the Profile icon at the top-right of the screen.
• Then tap on Unblock from the options that appear.
• You’ll see a confirmation at the bottom of the next page once the user is successfully unblocked.

Method 2: Via app settings

If you can’t access or find the user’s profile, go to the app’s settings to unblock someone on Tumblr.

• Tap on the profile tab at the bottom-right of the app window.
• Then tap on the Gear (settings) icon at the top-right of the page.
• On the next page, scroll to the bottom and tap on Blocked Tumblrs.
• Then on the next page, tap on the Unblock button beside the name of the blog or user you want to ublock on Tumbr.

Unblocking someone on Tumblr’s website (on PC)

You can unblock someone on Tumblr’s website via their profile following the same steps above for doing the same on the mobile app, or follow the steps mentioned below to unblock them via the settings.

Step 1: Click on the Profile icon at the top-right of the website. From the dropdown list, select Settings.

Step 2: On the next page, click on your primary blog from the side panel to the right.

Step 3: Then scroll down to the bottom and click on the Pencil (Edit) icon beside Blocked Tumblrs.

Step 4: Then click on the Unblock button beside the name of the Tumblr user you want to unblock.
