Are you facing the WiFi keeps disconnecting in Windows 11 issue? Many Windows users reported this issue when connecting to WiFi.

Fortunately, there are some easy and effective ways to fix the issue so that you can enjoy a stable WiFi connection on your Windows 11 PC.

In this article, we’ll show you how to troubleshoot and resolve the WiFi disconnection issue on Windows 11. Follow the fixes below to get rid of your WiFi disconnection problem.

Restart your router

One of the simplest and most common solutions to fix WiFi issues is to restart your router. This can help eliminate any minor glitches or interference affecting your WiFi connection.

Restarting your router also forces your PC to reconnect to your WiFi network, which can resolve any connection errors.

To restart your router, you can either press the power button on the device or unplug it from the power source. Wait for at least 10 seconds before turning it back on. Then, check if your WiFi connection is stable on your Windows 11 PC.

Forget and then reconnect your WiFi network

Another easy way to fix the WiFi that keeps disconnecting in Windows 11 is to forget your current WiFi network and reconnect it. This can help reset your connection settings and clear any cached data that might be causing problems.

Follow the steps given below to forget the WiFi settings on your Windows 11 PC:

Step 1: Open the Action Centre by pressing Windows key + A and then click on the arrow icon next to WiFi.

Step 2: Now, select the WiFi and then right-click on the Properties tab and select the Forget option.

This will disconnect your PC from the network and erase any saved password.

After a few minutes, reconnect to the same WiFi network and check whether your WiFi signal is stable now.

Step 1: Head to Settings > Network and Internet > WiFi.

Step 2: Now, select the WiFi.

Step 3: Check the ‘Connect automatically when in range‘ option.

Enable the WLAN AutoConfig service

Ensure that the WLAN AutoConfig service is functioning correctly as it manages the operation of the wireless adapter. Verify that the service is running as intended.

Here’s how to do that:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window. Here, type services.msc.

Step 2: Navigate to the WLAN AutoConfig service and then right-click on the file and select Start.

Reset the network settings

To resolve network connectivity issues, consider resetting the network settings on your PC. This action will reset the entire network stack and potentially resolve any data transmission problems.

Check DNS settings

Incorrectly configured custom DNS settings can lead to internet connectivity problems, intentionally or unintentionally. To address this, you can flush your DNS settings, resetting them to their default values and potentially resolving the connectivity issues.

Follow the steps given below to do it:

Step 1: Press Windows key + R and type in cmd.

Step 2: Use the commands ipconfig /flushdns to reset DNS settings to default.

If the above command doesn’t help, enter the following commands one at a time.

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

If you suspect an issue with your router’s DHCP assignment, use these commands to release your old IP and request a new one.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If the above solution didn’t work, reset your network stack using the following commands.

nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset

If you are a Mac user, head to the Terminal and then type in sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder. Next, type in your password when prompted, and try re-accessing the internet.

Clearing the DNS cache can help fix the WiFi that keeps disconnecting in Windows 11.

Update WiFi driver

Updating the WiFi driver can fix any minor bug so that you can connect your WiFi seamlessly.

Step 1: Press Windows key + R, type in devmgmt.msc and press enter.

Step 2: Double-click on Network Adaptors to expand the category. Right-click on the specific WiFi card or Ethernet adapter that requires fixing. Select the Update driver option.

Step 3: If you want Windows to search for the driver update, click on Search automatically for drivers. If not, then click on the Browse my computer for drivers option.

Disable adaptor power management settings

By utilizing the Device Manager, you can manage various settings for the components of your PC, including wireless adapters. It is essential to verify that Windows is not causing any disruptions in the device’s power settings. An inaccurate or inconsistent power supply to your network adapter can also lead to a WiFi disconnecting issue in Windows 11.

Step 1: Right-click Start and select Device Manager from the menu.

Step 2: Find your network adaptor and double-click it to open its properties.

Step 3: Now, head to the Power Management tab and uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.
