Xbox announced expanded support for its cloud gaming services on Monday. Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members with Windows 10 PCs or Apple phones and tablers via any browser across 22 countries.
The cloud gaming is powered by Microsoft’s Azure cloud services and aims to bring online game streaming to the masses. The service itself has also seen some upgrades, being powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware now. Microsoft is also upgrading its data centres to the latest Xbox Series X hardware as well.
As of right now, streaming is locked to 1080p 60FPS to provide low latency and stability. However, Xbox promises to bring more upgrades and features moving forward.

Now play Xbox games on just about any device
With this expansion, users can now play over 100 Xbox games on Windows 10 PCs and iOS and Android devices without having to worry about system requirements. Instead, all you need is a fast enough internet connection.
The cloud gaming service also aims to provide a seamless playing experience across all devices you use. Essentially, you’re playing games on an Xbox Series X located in a Microsoft data centre located closest to you, which means you can save your progress on one device and pick up where you left off from whichever device you like.
As more and more users start playing these console games on touchscreen devices, Microsoft’s custom touch controls also evolve to make the playing experience feel more natural. Of course, you could use a compatible Xbox controller with your device to control your games as well.
There’s a host of mobile gaming accessories hitting the market to aid players in their gaming experiences. This includes the Backbone One for iOS. as it joins the host of “designed for Xbox” devices that are compatible with Xbox games that you’ll be playing in the cloud. The controller is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 13 or above and is available for US$99 in select Microsoft Store markets.
