If you use Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite, you’ve likely encountered the frustrating Adobe Genuine Service alerts that repeatedly pop up, warning you that your programs aren’t genuine. Fortunately, removing these alerts is simpler than you might think.
Here’s a YouTube video explaining the fix:
In this article, we’ll explain four ways how you can fix Adobe Genuine Service alerts:
Here we've covered:
Uninstall the Adobe Genuine Service
The easiest way to stop the pop-ups is by uninstalling the Adobe Genuine Service entirely. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Press the Windows key + I to open Windows Settings and then head to Apps > Installed Apps.

Step 2: Scroll through the list to find Adobe Genuine Service. Click the three-dot menu next to it and select Uninstall.

Step 3: Click on Uninstall again to finish the operation.

Finally, confirm the uninstallation and follow any additional prompts. Once installed, the service should no longer run in the background, preventing further alerts.

Disable Adobe Genuine Service in Windows Services
If uninstalling doesn’t work or the service keeps reappearing, you can disable it manually in Windows Service:
Step 1: Open the Start Menu and search for Services. Click on the first result to open the Services Manager.

Step 2: Scroll down and locate Adobe Genuine Service. Right-click the service and select Properties.

Step 3: Under Startup Type and select Disabled. If the service is currently running, click Stop. Click Apply and then Ok.

This will prevent the service from automatically starting and displaying pop-ups in the future.

Manually remove Adobe Genuine Service Files
If the service persists even after disabling it, you may need to manually delete its files.
Step 1: Press the Windows Key + X and select Task Manager.

Step 2: Look for AGSService.exe or AGCService.exe under the Processes tab. Here we will take AppHelper.exe as an example. Right-click the process and select End Task to stop it.

After that, open File Explorer and navigate to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient or C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient and delete the AdobeGCClient folder permanently.
After completing these steps, Adobe Geuine Service should no longer interfere with your workflow.
By following these methods, you can effectively disable or remove Adobe Genuine Service and stop the annoying pop-up alerts. If you continue experiencing issues, ensure that Adobde Creative Cloud is not reinstalling the service during updates.
