These earbuds seamlessly connect to various Apple devices, including Macbooks, allowing users to enjoy a wireless audio experience while working, studying, or simply relaxing. However, like any technological device, AirPods may encounter occasional connectivity issues.

How to fix Aipods not connecting to Macbook issue?

If you cannot connect your Airpods to your Macbook, we have explained a few ways that might help you resolve the issue.

Below we have explained the following methods.

  2. Charge the Airpods
  3. Turn on Bluetooth
  4. Select the Airpods as the Output device
  5. Reset the Airpods

Check for updates

If you are using an outdated version of macOS, then it might be a reason you are unable to connect your Aipods with your Macbook. To check for updates follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu and then in the dropdown menu click on the System Settings option.

Step 2: In system settings, click on the General option available in the sidebar and then click on the Software Update option on the right side.

Step 3: If you have any macOS updates available, then update it


Charge the Airpods

Low battery levels can sometimes cause connectivity issues. If your AirPods are not connecting to your MacBook, Place your AirPods in the charging case and ensure that they are properly placed in the case. Connect the charging case to a power source using the Lightning cable and let them charge for a while. Once they have sufficient charge, try connecting them to your MacBook again.


Turn on Bluetooth

To connect your Mac with the Airpods you need Bluetooth to be on, to check your Bluetooth is on, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu and then in the dropdown menu click on the System Settings option.

Step 2: In the system settings, click on the Bluetooth option in the sidebar and then on the right side turn the toggle on beside Bluetooth.

Alternate step 1: You can turn the Bluetooth on by clicking on the Bluetooth icon available on the menu bar and turning on the toggle. If you are unable to see the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar then you can enable it from the control centre. You can also follow Alternate Step 2 if you don’t see Bluetooth on the menu bar.

Alternate step 2: Click on the Control Centre (Toggle) button available on the menu bar and then in the option click on the Bluetooth to turn it on.


Select the Airpods as the Output device

If your Airpods are connected to It is possible that your Mac is connected to another output device and that is why you are unable to hear anything through your Airpods. To check and set Airpods as the output device follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the Control Centre (Toggle) button available on the menu bar.

Step 2: Click on the AirPlay icon beside the Soundbar.

Step 3: Select your Airpods from the list.


Reset the Airpods

If none of the above methods works for you then your last resort is to reset your Airpods.
