Softbank-backed team collaboration tool Slack has gained over 10 million users over the past five years and after a long time last month it received an update that brought several new features and upgrades such as a new navigation bar and a compose button, an updated sidebar, folder-like organisational feature and new shortcuts.

If you’re new to Slack or simply are unable to find your way around the refreshed cloud-based tool, here is how you can change the name of your Slack channel on PC, Android and iOS.

Change Slack channel name on PC

Open Slack on your PC, select the channel that you want to rename from the sidebar on the left and follow the steps mentioned below to change the name of your Slack channel.

Step 1: Click on Details button at the top-right of the Slack channel window.Step 2: On the Details sidebar, click on More and then select Rename channel from the dropdown menu.Step 3: On the next Rename page, edit the name of your channel under the Name heading and then click on the Rename channel button.Also read: How to create a poll on Slack? Change channel name on Slack for Android and iOS

Open the Slack app for iOS or Android and follow the steps mentioned below to change the channel name.

• Go to the channel that you want to rename.
• Tap on the name of the channel at the top of the display.
• On the next page — Info on iOS and Channel details on Android — tap on Edit.
• On the next page, edit the name of the Slack channel below the Name heading and tap on Done (or Save on Android).
