Darktide weekly contracts not working: Quick Fix

Regardless of how good a game is, the game ratings won’t be very good unless it’s stable enough to let the players enjoy their game time rather than crashing with error codes. That’s exactly the case with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. While some bugs and glitches are inevitable, seeing them frequently can really drown out any enjoyment you get out of the game.

In this article, we’re talking about Darktide weekly contracts not working as expected and what you can do to fix the problem.

What causes this error?

The error is caused by a bug in the game that doesn’t progress weekly contracts after a certain amount of progress. Fat Shark is aware of the issue and is working on a fix having released an official forum thread where they’re tracking the issue for players running into problems with contracts.

How to fix this?

Here are four fixes you can try out.

Restart your game

One of the easiest ways to fix the problem is to restart the game. Restarting games and programs often resolves temporary bugs that can cause crashes or connectivity issues. Once the game is stopped completely (you can verify this using the Task Manager), relaunch it using the Steam launcher, and it should work just fine.

Play without a strike team

A number of users have reported that by playing matches on their own without being part of a strike team, the issue seemed to have resolved itself. However, there are also conflicting reports of this method not working so your mileage may vary.

Verify Game Files

Corrupted game files can often lead to issues like this, not just in Darktide but other games. Luckily, Steam has a built-in feature that verifies your game files and reinstalls any files that might be damaged. Follow these steps.

Step 1: Head over to your Steam Library, right-click on Darktide and select Properties.

Reinstall

If checking the game files didn’t work out, your best bet is to delete the game from Steam and reinstall it from scratch. Ensure to overwrite your game save with the new installation, as corrupt saved files can also cause this issue.
