But if you’ve decided to move on to another platform or are just taking a break from chess and want to start with a clean slate when you return, closing your Chess.com account might just be the right choice.

However, if that doesn’t solve your problem, or you’ve just decided to move on from the platform, here is how you can delete your account on Chess.com in a few simple steps from its website or app for Android or iOS.
Note that when you start the process of deleting the Chess.com account on the app, it’ll eventually redirect you to the website after a few steps, so we suggest you login to your Chess.com account in a web browser on your mobile — if a PC isn’t available — before continuing.

How to delete your Chess.com account on PC?
Login to your account on Chess.com and follow the steps mentioned below to close your account.
Step 1: Click on the Settings option at the bottom-left of the page, then select All Settings. Scroll down to the Settings page and click on Manage Account.
If you can’t find the option mentioned above, alternatively you can also click on the Settings option at the bottom-left of the page, then select All Settings. Then click on Account/Payment from the sidebar menu and then on Manage Account.
Step 2: On the Manage Account page, click on the Close My Account button at the bottom.
If you’ve got a Premium membership of Chess.com, a button to cancel it will also appear on the same page.
Step 3: Then on the pop-up box, choose one of the reasons you’re deleting your account on Chess.com (we selected Other) and then click on the Close My Account button at the bottom of the box.
Your account will be terminated immediately and you won’t be able to login using the same credentials until you create a new account.

How to delete your Chess.com account on Android or iOS app?
Open the Chess.com app on your Android or iOS device and follow the steps mentioned below to close your account.
- Tap on the More tab at the bottom-right of the app. Then select Settings.
- On the next page, tap on Account.
- Then scroll to the bottom of the next page and select tap here link.
You’ll then be redirected to Chess.com on your selected browser and can continue deleting your account there (refer to Step 2 and 3 in the guide for PC above).
