Google Pay has been quick in gaining ground ever since it was launched in India in September 2017 as Tez — rebranded to the current name in August 2018 — and is now one of the more popular mobile wallet apps in India, USA and several other marketsÂ
Like other online payment platforms, Google Pay also provides transaction history of payments made through the app. For whatever reason, if you wish to get rid of the transaction history on Google Pay, we’ve got you covered.Â
Google Pay lets you delete the transaction history permanently via its website barring UPI based transactions. Tapping on the message to delete it in the Google Pay mobile app will only delete the conversation and not the history of your account.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete transaction history on Google Pay.

Deleting Google Pay transaction history
Sign in to your account on myaccount.google.com and follow the steps mentioned below to delete the transaction history on Google Pay.
Step 1: Select the option Data & Personalisation from the list of options on the left-hand side of the screen.

Step 2: Scroll down and click on My Activity option.

Step 3: On the Google My Activity page, select Delete Activity By from the list of options on the left side of the screen. If the list does not appear at first, click on the three parallel lines on the top-left of the screen beside Google My Activity..

Step 4: A pop-window will appear where you can choose the time period within which you want to delete account activity — Last hour, Last day, All time, or Custom range.

In case, you want to delete the most recent transactions, choose Last Hour or Last Day, which will automatically delete the Google Pay transaction history. If you want to delete the entire history, select All Time. If you want to delete history from a specific period of time, select Custom Range.
Step 5: If you choose All Time or Custom Range, on the next page, tick box beside Google Pay. Then click on the Next button.

Step 6: A window will appear asking you to confirm the activity, click on the Delete button.

Step 7: Your history will be permanently deleted. Click on the Got It button to close the window.

As mentioned earlier, Google Pay only permanently deletes transaction history of purchases made from Google Play Store and it does not delete history logs of UPI-based transactions.
