Twitter is killing 'Moments' on October 23: How to create a Moment via PC

In its early days, Twitter was known as a micro-blogging site, owing to its 140 character limit for tweets, which was further extended to 280 characters and threads were enabled. However, Twitter doesn’t allow users to edit the tweets once they’re published. While people also add the corrections in a thread below the original tweet, you can also delete your tweet and republish the corrected version.

If you’re unable to find a way to remove your tweet, in this article we’ll guide you through the process of deleting your tweet from Twitter on PC, Android and iOS.

But before you go ahead and delete your tweets, here are a few things you should know.

  • You can only delete a single tweet at once. Twitter doesn’t allow users to bulk delete. However, you can try using one of these third-party services if you want to remove multiple tweets at once.
  • Once you delete a tweet, it’s is permanently removed from your account, your follower’s timelines, and from search results across Twitter’s website and apps.
  • If anyone has retweeted your tweet, that will be deleted automatically too.
  • If anyone has copied the text of your tweet and tweeted from their own account, their tweet won’t be deleted.
  • If anyone has retweeted your tweet with a comment, their tweet won’t be deleted.
  • Your deleted tweets might still show up on some mobile devices due to caching, but they won’t be accessible.
  • Your deleted tweets that have been cross-posted or cached by any other website or app that Twitter doesn’t own will still appear and you’ll need to contact the respective site admins to remove the tweet.
