How to remove ‘Powered by Shopify’?

Method 2: Use the Shopify app

The second method that you can try to remove ‘Powered by Shopify’ is by using the Shopify app. Here are the steps to do so:

  • Open the Shopify app and then tap on Store.
  • Tap on Sales Channel and then go to Online Store.
  • Next, select Manage Themes to find the theme that you want to edit. Once you found the theme, tap on Edit default theme content.
  • In the Filter box. search powered and in the Powered by Shopify box, type a single space using the spacebar.
  • Finally, select Save to confirm the changes.

Method 3: Remove ‘Powered by Shopify’ by editing the theme code

If the ‘Powered by Shopify’ message is still being displayed in the footer, you can try to remove it by editing the code.

  • Open the Shopify admin panel and then go to Online Store > Themes.
  • Select the theme that you want to edit and then click on Edit code.
  • Select the footer.liquid file from the Sections directory.
  • Next, press Ctrl + F on Windows or Command + F on Mac and search the following liquid tag – {{ powered_by_link }}. Once you found the tag, delete the whole line containing the tag.
  • Save your preferences.
