Twitter allows users to follow people they like on the platform and once you follow someone, their tweets will appear on your timeline and if you engage with their tweets a lot, you might even get a notification if one of their tweets is gaining traction. However, if you’ve followed someone by mistake or don’t like what the person you’re following has to say and want their tweets to not appear in your timeline, you can unfollow them in a few easy steps.
Once you’ve unfollowed someone on Twitter, you won’t see their tweets in your timeline. However, you’ll still be able to view their profile and tweets, unless they’ve protected their profile or made it private.
Twitter doesn’t send any notification to the user when you unfollow them, but they can know if someone did unfollow them via third-party services. However, if they visit your profile, they’ll know if you follow them or not. If you choose to follow them back, beware that Twitter sends a notification to the user you follow.
In this article, we’re going to guide you on how to unfollow someone on Twitter, either via their profile page or from one of their tweets on PC, Android and iOS.
