Setting up WhatsApp on a Samsung Galaxy Watch
First up, you need to have your watch and phone paired together. Not to mention you should also have Whatsapp installed and running on your smartphone.
Once that is out of the way we can get started with setting up Whatsapp on your watch.
- Open the Galaxy Wearables app and tap on Notifications. Â
- Scroll down and tap on See all.
- Scroll down until you find Whatsapp in the list. Make sure that notifications are enabled.
And that’s how you set up and use Whatsapp on your Samsung smartwatch, including Galaxy Active, Galaxy Active 2 and Galaxy Gear Sport. Now all you need to do is swipe right on your watch face, or turn the bezel to the left and you’ll be able to see your Whatsapp messages and be able to reply to them as well.Â
You can also set up quick replies in the Galaxy Wearables app to avoid typing and send in a quick reply.

Image support on Galaxy Watch Active 2
In the latest firmware update to Galaxy Watch Active 2, Samsung has enabled image support for photos sent over Whatsapp. Users will, however, have to enable automatic media download in their Whatsapp settings.
It’s safe to say that this feature will soon trickle down to other, older watches in Samsung’s lineup as well.
