One of the most popular online writing tool, Google Docs is very helpful for those who work remotely or on the move as well as among collaborators because you can access all your files online and edit them on your mobile too.
Changing orientation of the page is very helpful when you want to edit or present your document in a different orientation, so in this article, we will guide you through how to change Google Docs to landscape via its website on PC or Android and iOS apps.

Changing Google Docs to landscape on PC
Login to your account on docs.google.com and follow the steps below to change Google Docs to landscape on PC.
Step 1: Click on File option on the top left corner of the screen just below the title of the document. Then click on the Page setup option from the menu..
Step 2: On the pop-up Page setup box, click on the Landscape option. You can change the margins of your pages in the file and edit the page size and colour of the page. You can also set these parameters as default settings for your document by clicking on Set as default option on the bottom left corner of the page setup screen. After editing all the settings for the page click on the Ok button on the bottom right corner of the box.
Step 3: You will see your page in Landscape mode now. Notice the increased page space horizontally with smaller grey area.

Changing Google Docs to the landscape in Android or iOS app
Launch the Google Docs app and follow the steps below to change Google Docs to the landscape in Google Docs app.
- Tap on the Meatball (triple horizontal bars) icon on the top right corner of the screen.
- In the menu that appears, tap on Page setup option.
- On the next screen, tap on the Orientation option.
- Then tap on Landscape option.
You can’t really differentiate between portrait or landscape orientation In Google Docs app and to ascertain that the changes have been made, you can enable the print layout option, which gives you a hint whether the orientation is set to portrait or landscape.

How to Enable print layout in Google Docs app?
While this isn’t necessary, it will surely help you ascertain whether or not the orientation of your page has changed.
- Tap on the Meatball (triple horizontal dots) icon on the top right corner of the screen.
- Then in the menu that appear, enable the Toggle bar beside the print layout option.
As shown above, on the left screenshot the page is oriented in portrait mode and on the right it is oriented in landscape. Notice the difference in the blank space at the bottom of the pages.
