How to revert Windows 11 24H2 to 23H2?

The Windows update 24H2 released by Microsoft in 2024, came with its own share of bugs and it may not work well on your system. Users can roll back to version 23H2 within 10 days of updating to the latest version.

In this article, we will show you how to roll back or revert Windows to 23H2 from version 24H2. Here’s a video explaining how you can do so:

Use Windows recovery options

As Microsoft allows rolling back to the previous update, the option to revert the version can be found in the recovery options. The steps to roll back Windows from the settings are:

Step 1: Click on the Windows menu and search for Recovery options.

Step 2: Click on the Go back button in Recovery options.

Use Advanced Startup options

While the Go back option is the simplest way to roll back Windows, it may not be visible for all users. In such cases, the Windows version can be reverted via the advanced startup options. The steps to do so are as follows:

Step 1: In Recovery options, click on the Restart now button beside Advanced startup to head over to advanced startup options.

Step 2: Click on Uninstall Updates in the Advanced startup options.

Step 3: Click on Uninstall latest feature update.

Once you click on the uninstall option, your Windows should return to Windows version 23H2 if you have installed the new 24H2 update.
