Snapchat is a pretty amazing social media platform with some pretty unique features such as disappearing messages and screenshot notification.
Now Snapchat also allows users to share their locations with each other over a map. You can of course disable with the feature. However, your friends can still request your location.Â

How to stop location requests on Snapchat?
The process is quite simple. Open the Snapchat app on your device and follow the steps mentioned below.
- Tap on your Bitmoji to head to the profile screen.
- Tap on the Settings (gear) icon.
- Scroll down and tap on See my location.
- Uncheck the Allow Friends to request My Location setting.Â
How to allow selected friends to request your location on Snapchat?
That’s all you need to do to stop people from requesting your location. However, if you only want a select few people to be able to see your location, follow the guide below.
- Tap on your Bitmoji to head to the profile screen.
- Tap on the Settings (gear) icon.
- Scroll down and tap on See my location.
- Under Who can see my location, tap on My Friends, Except if you want to exclude some people from watching your location. Otherwise, you can select Only These Freinds, which’ll only allow selected friends to check your location.Â
- Select your friends accordingly and tap on Done.

How to request a friend’s location on Snapchat?
If you’re on the other end of the spectrum and want to request a friend’s location, follow the steps below. If you need to send your location, the steps are pretty much the same.
- Open Snapchat and tap on the Chats icon. Alternatively, you can simply right swipe on the screen.Â
- Find the friend you want to request the location or send your location to and tap on their bitmoji to open their profile.Â
- Here you’ll see options to send your location, or request your friend’s location, respectively.Â
Note that if your friend has disabled location sharing requests by using the steps above, the request location option might be greyed out for you.
