With an ever-expanding audience, Youtube always tries to make things easier for its users. However, at times too much help can be troublesome. In this article, we’re going over four ways to stop Youtube from translating video titles.Â
Disable any VPNs
If you’re using a VPN, chances are the Youtube site is thinking you’re in another country or region and is using the localised language for that place. Try disabling any VPNs that you’re using and try refreshing the site once.
Check your country
Youtube’s native country setting is one of the major causes why the platform tries to translate video titles. Changing your country can help resolve this issue.

Step 1: Head over to Youtube and click on your profile icon in the top right.
Step 2: Click on the Location setting.
Step 3: Choose your country and refresh the page.

There’s no option to change the language on the Youtube phone app as the app relies on your phone’s language. Here’s how you can change that instead.
On Android
- Open your phone settings and head over to System.
- Tap Languages & input.
- Tap on Languages.
- Tap Add language.
- Select the language you want and you’re good to go.
On iOS
If you’ve got multiple languages selected, you can use the Edit button in the top right to edit the order to match your preferences.

Step 2: Scroll down and click on Language.
Step 3: Click the pencil icon next to your preferred language.
