What is the User OOBE Broker?

User OOBE Broker, short for User Out-Of-Box Experience Broker, is a crucial component in the Windows operating system responsible for managing the out-of-the-box experience for new users. This process includes creating a new user, configuring system settings, and customising the user’s experience.


How to disable it?

Here are three ways to disable the User OOBE Broker:

Terminate it through the Task Manager

You can disable the User OOBE Broker from your task manager, where you probably found it. Here is how are the steps:

Step 1: Press the Ctrl + Shift +Esc keys on your keyboard to open the task manager and click the Details tab.

Step 2: Scroll down, find and select UserPPBEBroker.exe in the list of processes and then click on the End Task button at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Disable Windows welcome experience

Disabling the Windows welcome experience will disable the Use OOBE Broker. Here are the steps to do that:

Step 1: Press the Windows + I keys on your keyboard to open the Settings app and then click on the System.

Step 2: In the sidebar, click on Notifications & actions and then on the right side uncheck the box beside Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates and occasionally when I sign in to highlight what’s new and suggested.

Step 3: Restart your PC.


Create a new user account

Another way to disable the User OOBE Broker is by creating a new user profile. It might sound a bit strange, but it does the trick. Create a fresh user profile and then go into the task manager to see if the UserOOBEBroker process is still there.
