Nvidia offers a well made and polished interface for its users to monitor their GPUs and games. However, if you can’t access the Nvidia control panel to begin with, it can cause a bunch of issues.
In this article, we’re going to talk about what you can do if you can’t access your control panel, so you can get your games up and running.
Check your Antivirus
Several users have reported their antivirus causing conflicts with the Nvidia control panel. If in case you’re not able to access your control panel, try disabling your Antivirus and try again.

End Nvidia display contain process
One of the best solutions to just about any program not opening is to close all of its instances and process and simply start the program again. If you’re not able to start the Nvidia control panel, try killing the Nvidia display contain process and relaunch the utility.
Step 1: Right-click on the taskbar and click on Task Manager.

Step 2: Close any Nvidia processes you see. Especially the ones named Nvidia Contain.

Now try starting the Nvidia control panel again.
Make sure all Nvidia services are running
On the contrary to the previous point, if any of the required services for the control panel are not running, you obviously won’t be able to access the panel.
Step 1: Press Windows key + R to bring up the Run prompt. Type in services.msc and hit enter.

Step 2: Find the Nvidia Display Container LS service and double-click it to proceed.

Step 3: Make sure that the Startup type is set to Automatic and that the service is running. Click Apply followed by OK when you’re done.

Now restart your PC and try accessing the control panel again. This should resolve any issues you were facing.

Reinstall drivers from Nvidia GeForce Experience
Nvidia’s driver management utility, the GeForce experience takes care of updating drivers and managing and optimising your games. If you’re not able to access the control panel, you can try updating your drivers from GeForce Experience.
Here’s how.
Step 1; Click on the Start icon and search for GeForce Experience. Click on it to open the utility.

Step 2: Head over to the Driver tab.

Step 3: Click on the three vertical dots in front of the current driver version.

Step 4: Click on Reinstall driver followed by Quick Install.

Disable Fast Boot
Windows 10 has an in-built setting called Fast Boot that helps boot your PC significantly faster by saving the current PC state on your drive and simply reloading it again when you start your machine.
While this gives you better startup speeds, this can also cause a bunch of issues. If you’re having trouble accessing the Nvidia control panel, try disabling the Fast Boot setting.

Check for Windows Updates
More often than not, Windows Updates tend to fix any issues that you might be facing. It’s always a good idea to keep your copy of Windows up to date both from a performance and a security perspective.
Step 1: Press Windows key + I to get to Windows settings. Click on Update & Security.

Step 2: Install any updates if available, restart your PC and try visiting YouTube again.

Reset the Nvidia Control Panel
If all else fails, you can try resetting the control panel utility to see if that resolves your issue.
Step 1; Click on the Start icon and search for Nvidia Control Panel. Click on App Settings.

Step 2: Scroll down and click on Reset.

Now restart your PC and try accessing the utility again.
