Steam is one of the most popular gaming platforms in the world right now with people across the world using it to play their favourite games. The sign-up process is easy and the games are often on a big discount. 

Since Steam accounts are free to make, most people tend to make another account altogether in case they make a mistake in their previous one. In this article, we’re going to talk about how you can change the email address of your Steam account.

How to change Steam account’s email address on PC?

Step 1: Head over to Steam and click on your profile name in the top right. Account details from the menu that appears.

Step 2: Under Contact Info, click on Change my email address.

Step 3: You’ll now be asked how you want to reset your email. You have two options here. 

• Using the Steam Mobile app.
• Using a phone number or current email address. 

We strongly recommend that you use the Steam app on your phone to make things easy for yourself. We’ll be using the Steam app.

Step 4: You’ll be shown a code on the screen that you have to confirm using the Steam app. 

Step 5: Once you’re done, you can type in the new email address and hit the Change Email button to update your email.

How to change Steam account’s email address on the Steam app?

If you’re looking to change your email address using the Steam app, the process is exactly identical except it happens on your phone. 

• Open the Steam app and tap on the hamburger menu icon in the top-left.
• From the options menu, tap on Support.
• Under Support, tap on My Account. 
• Tap on Manage Account.
• Scroll down to find Contact Info. Tap on the Change my email address link here. 

From here on the process is exactly identical to the one we followed above; continue from Step 3 in the guide for PC above.
