System requirements
Before you begin, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
- Minecraft Java edition: Pixelmon only works with the Java Edition of Minecraft.
- Java: Ensure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer.
- Forge mod loader: Pixelmon requires Forge to run. Ensure you have the correct version of Forge installed that matches your Minecraft version.
- RAM: Allocate at least 2GB of RAM to Minecraft for a smooth Pixelmon experience.
Steps to download and install Pixelmon
To download and install Pixelmon and enjoy the mod with your Minecraft universe, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to reforged.gg and click on the latest and stable version. Alpha and beta create issues as they are still in testing phase.
Step 2: It will take you to an ad page, look at the top right corner of the screen, and you will see a time of five seconds wait for it to complete and then a Skip button will appear, click on it.
Step 3: Let the file download and open the Minecraft launcher. After opening Minecraft launcher click on the Installations tab in the menu at the top.
Step 4: Click on the New Installation button.
Step 5: Choose a name for the new installation, then choose the version of Forge you have installed on your PC and then click on the Create button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 6: The Pixelmon installation is ready, you just have to copy the mod file to the Mod folder. Click on the Directory icon beside the new installations.
Step 7: It will lead you to %Appdata%/.minecraft. You can go to this folder manually through Windows Explorer. Double-click on the Mods folder, if you see it otherwise create a new folder by the name Mods.
Step 8: Finally, copy the downloaded .jar file to this Mods folder. You are all set and good to go.
Step 9: Go to the Minecraft launcher and click on the Play button beside the name you have chosen for this mod to start the game.
