How to fix the issue?
If your Frigidaire ice maker is not working properly, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
Check the Ice maker is on
The ice maker has a separate switch from the main fridge. So check whether the ice maker is turned on; if it is on, you might want to try resetting the fridge, as it can solve most of the basic problems in your fridge. To reset the ice maker, turn off the ice maker and unplug the power cord, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in and switch the ice maker on.
Check the Ice maker temperature
Ensure that you check the freezer’s temperature. The ice maker may not work properly if the temperature exceeds 10 degrees F. It operates optimally when the freezer temperature is adjusted to a range between 0 and 5 degrees F. If the freezer temperature is too high, ensure the condenser coil is clean and that the condenser fan is operational to facilitate the cooling of the condenser and compressor. Additionally, check the evaporator coil for excessive frost accumulation, which can impede air circulation.

Check the Door Seal
A faulty door seal can make the temperature unstable, with warm air entering the fridge and causing the freezer to become excessively cold, freezing the water tube for the ice maker. To fix this, ensure the doors self-close and tilt the fridge slightly. Within 24 hours, the defrost cycles will thaw the water tube, allowing ice production to start again.
Check the Water Filter
The water filter may be clogged, stopping the proper water flow, which is why the ice maker isn’t working properly. You can change the water filter or clean it by soaking it in vinegar and water for about 30 minutes and then wash it and place it back in.
Check the Water Inlet Valve
If the water inlet valve is defective or has low pressure, it won’t supply water to the ice maker, resulting in no ice production. Ensure the valve has at least 20 psi pressure and check for power using a multimeter. If pressure and power are good, but the ice maker still doesn’t fill with water, replace the water inlet valve.
Check the Ice maker mould thermostat
The control module of the ice maker has a thermostat that monitors the ice mould’s temperature. When the mould reaches the correct temperature, the ice maker starts a cycle to release ice and refill it with water. If the mold thermostat is faulty, the ice maker won’t proceed. Check the thermostat for continuity and replace it if needed.
