Add subtitles in iMovie

To add subtitles to a video in iMovie follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open iMovie on your Mac and then import the video in which you want to add the subtitles.

Step 2: Drag the video to the filmstrip area.

Step 3: Click on the Titles tab at the top and then select the title style. Choose the title style from lower, lower third and reveal lower third, you can pick any of them. You can either double-click on the title to select it or drag it directly to the desired location on the clip.

Step 4: Click on the Text Box (T) icon at the top of the viewer and type the text for the subtitle in the box.

Step 5: Adjust the duration of the caption by dragging the edges or you can also click the i icon above the viewer and manually enter your desired caption length.

Step 6: Your video subtitles will be ready.
