Harvesting honeycomb in Minecraft

Honeycomb is found in either naturally occurring bee nests or in player-crafted beehives. You’ll find plenty of bee nests in biomes with plenty of trees and flowers, such as meadows. Once you’ve found a bee nest, you can use a pair of sheers of extract honeycomb. Here are the steps you need to follow.

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is craft a pair of shears. You’ll require a crafting table and two iron ingots to get started. Once you have the required materials, walk up to a crafting table, interact with it by pressing the right mouse button and place your iron ingots in the pattern below to craft shears.

Step 2: Now that you have shears, it’s time to find a bee nest. As mentioned above, you can easily find them in the meadow biome on the high side of a tree or just below the leaves. Check if the bee nest is full, as indicated by dripping honey. You can’t harvest honeycomb if a bee nest (or beehive) is empty.

Step 3: Walk up to the bee nest or beehive and use your shears to extract the honeycomb. Each bee nest or beehive will give you three pieces of honeycomb.

Remember that the bees inside the bee nest or beehive will become hostile to you and try to attack if you extract the honeycomb. To prevent this, place a campfire or beehives within five blocks of the bee nest to calm the bees.

Another thing to remember is that bee nests or beehives take a while to replenish. Every time a bee leaves its nest, and returns with pollen, the honey level inside the nest goes up by one. Once the level reaches five, you can extract the honeycomb.
