Check the Input connection
It is possible that by mistake you have changed the input connection from your remote, so ensure that the input connection is set to the connection used by the cable box.

Power reset your TV and the cable box
Many problems occur because of technical complications and power resetting solves most of them. To power reset your TV and the cable box, unplug the power cord of your TV and the cable box from the power outlet and wait for about two minutes then reconnect the power to your devices.
Check for broken wires and cables
