The Xbox app on Windows 11 and 10 helps users bring their consoles and PCs together. However, the experience isn’t always seamless, and you can face the occasional bug or glitches.
In this article, we’re looking at the “sorry we’re having trouble showing the details of this perk right now” error in the Xbox app that happens when you’re trying to redeem your Xbox Game Pass perks.
Redeeming Xbox perks
Try out these methods to see if you can solve the problem.
Use the proper account
First up, make sure you’re using the right account with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription. If you’re using another account to redeem a different account’s perks, the process won’t work. You should also check to see whether your subscription has expired or not.
Claim the perks on another device
If you have your Xbox lying around or the Xbox app on your phone, you can log in to your account and redeem your perks from there. Since your account and its benefits are synchronised across devices, you’ll get them on your PC right away.
Update the Xbox app
Outdated apps can often cause problems, especially when using subscription-based services like Game Pass. Try checking the Microsoft Store to see if there are any updates for the Xbox app and if there are, install them right away, then try again.
Clear the Microsoft Store cache
Clearing the Microsoft Store cache can also help Windows apps work fine.
Step 1: Press Windows key + I to open Windows Settings. Once in, click Apps.
Step 2: Find Microsoft Store in the list and click the three vertical dots at the end. Then, click Advanced options.
Step 3: Click Reset to reset the Microsoft Store and clear its cache.
Now restart your PC and try again.
Repair the program
Repairing (or resetting) a program in Windows 10 can go a long way in helping resolve any errors.
Step 1: Press the Windows key and search for Xbox. Click on App Settings.
Step 2: Use the Repair or Reset buttons to perform the corresponding action and see if that resolved your error.
You should be able to redeem your perks now.
Contact Xbox support
If nothing else works, you will have to contact Xbox support to figure out what’s wrong with your account. It could be a server-based issue from their side, so get in touch with Xbox’s Customer Support to get to the bottom of this.
