Windows is a rather stable OS, but like everything tech, it runs into errors from time to time. BSoDs aren’t very common, but when they happen, they can cause many problems, and the error codes describing them don’t usually mean anything to the average user.
In this article, we’re talking about the Windows error oxo oxo, what causes it and what you can do to fix the problem.
What causes the 0x0 0x0 error?
The 0x0 0x0 error code signifies a runtime issue with a Windows program that causes it to behave abnormally and terminate. In the case of a third-party program, it’ll just cause a simple crash but if it happens with a core Windows service, it can crash your PC with a BSoD describing the error.
Several things, including the following, can cause the error.:
- Incorrect installations
- Buggy Windows update
- Missing/corrupt system files
- Hardware/software failure.

How to fix the 0x0 0x0 error?
Here are six ways to fix the 0x0 0x0 Windows error.
Update your PC
The first thing you should do is to update your PC. Updating your PC will, in most cases, update your drivers and fix any issues in the process.
Update your GPU drivers
Outdated GPU drivers can also cause this 0x0 0x0 issue in particular. While you should update all your drivers, if you run into an error like this, take special care of your display drivers.
Step 1: Right-click Start and select Device Manager from the menu.
Step 2: Under Display Adaptors. find your graphics card’s name, right-click on it and click on Update Drivers.
Step 3: Click on Search automatically for drivers. Windows will then automatically look for and download the latest drivers for your particular GPU.
While this should help resolve the error, in case it doesn’t, click Uninstall device and restart your PC to force Windows to install the required drivers. You can then update them later.
