Step 1: Click on the search icon, search for File Explorer and click on the application.

Step 2: In the File Explorer, click on the Local Disk (C:) drive and then go to the Program Files folder.

Step 3: Once you are in the Program Files folder, double-click on Genshin Impact.

Step 4: In the game folder, scroll until you find the logs folder and double-click on it.

Step 5: Here you will see several log files with different dates. Open the file with the most recent date (for example: 2025-02-08) in Notepad.

Step 6: When the file opens as a text document, scroll down to the very bottom. When the launcher displayed the error, an entry was made to the log file. Search for the entry which has setup error in it.

Step 7: Head over to the file path mentioned in the error line and delete the ZIP file.

Once you have deleted the ZIP file, restart the launcher and it should proceed with the installation without any issues.

Try Repair Now

While it is not certain that the Repair Now feature of the game launcher will fix the issue, it always a good idea to run the repair functionality from time to time to ensure your game does not run into any problems.
