Fix: MSI Center User Scenario not working

MSI Center User Scenario refers to the settings that you can use according to your requirements. These include Extreme Performance, Balanced, Silent, Super Battery, and User. Some of these modes, such as Extreme Performance, are more powerful and can be used when playing AAA titles or video editing, while others are more suited for normal day-to-day tasks.

However, unlike MSI’s hardware performance, the software can be a bit of an issue. Users have reported that MSI Center Software, which is used for system monitoring and customisation, often faces issues — especially after updates. If you encounter such an error, you’ll have to completely uninstall and reinstall MSI Center or Dragon Center software. So, we’ll cover the following:

End MSI Center processes from the Task Manager

Before uninstalling the MSI Center software, it’s important that you first close all the processes. For this, we’ll head to Task Manager.

Step 1: Right-click on the Start button and then select Task Manager. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to reach the same tool.

Step 2: Locate MSI Center or Dragon Center in the list. Click on it and then select End Task at the top right.

This will ensure that the software is fully closed before uninstalling.

Uninstall MSI Center

To resolve the issue of the MSI Center User Scenario not functioning, we will begin by uninstalling the MSI Center software.

Step 1: Press the Windows key + X and then select Installed apps. Or, press the Windows key + I and then head to Apps > Installed Apps.

Step 2: Search and locate MSI Centre or Dragon Centre, click on the three-dot icon and then select Uninstall.

Step 3: Click on Uninstall again.

Note: In step 2, you can also go for Advanced Options after clicking on the three-dot button. After that, try the Reset or Repair option first. This is optional but may help in some cases.

Reinstall MSI Center

Now, let’s reinstall MSI Center to check if that solves the MSI Cener User Scenario not working issue. You have two options: download from the MSI website or download from the Microsoft Store.

This process is quite simple. Head to the MSI website and then click Download. A zip file will be downloaded on your PC. Just unpack it and install the software and you’re good to go.

Step 1: Open the Microsoft Store from the Start menu.

Step 2: Type MSI Center in the search bar, click the Get button and install the latest version of MSI Center.

After installing, give your PC a restart to complete the setup.
