Microsoft Teams is a popular meeting and video chatting platform. It provides a platform to create teams in the application, which can host numerous people and meetings with those specific people. A team generally consists of Owners and Guests, and Members.
An individual can be a part of multiple teams at a given point. But, in a given period, some teams are unwanted or unnecessary but still crowd upon the main home page, making navigation to the desired team difficult.

How to hide and show a team?
When unnecessary teams crowd the main screen, Microsoft Teams gives an option to hide the unwanted teams, hence keeping the home screen more organised.
Step 1: Click on the Hamburger opinion on the top right of the team’s square icon.
Step 2: Select the Hide option.
The desired team gets hidden while the others shift left.
The hidden teams do not get deleted, and their content can be accessed at any given time. To view the hidden teams, or add them back to the main dashboard, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Scroll to the end of the main dashboard page.
Step 2: Click on Hidden teams.
To view the team and its contents, click on the team, and all the information, files and details will be visible.
The steps to unhide the team is similar to the steps followed for hiding the team.
Step 1: Click on the Hamburger opinion on the top right of the team’s square icon.
Step 2: Select the Show option.
The team will be visible at the end of the list on the dashboard.
Alternative method to hide Team
There is an alternative method where all the teams are visible and can be set to Hide or Show according to your preference.
Step 1: Click on the Settings icon beside the Join or create team option.
Step 2: Select the Manage teams option.
Step 3: Click on the eye in the second last column to hide/show the team.
The dark eye represents that the team is visible, while the light eye icon represents a hidden team.

How to hide and show channels within a team?
Channels are sub-divisions within a team. Every channel visible in the team sends a notification in case of an activity like a new message, meeting and others. But just like teams, there may be unnecessary channels, and their notifications may be disturbing. The channels within a team can also be hidden and shown based on their need and necessity.
Step 1: Click on the hamburger option in front of the channel name.
Step 2: Select the Hide option.
Even after hiding a channel, its contents will still be accessible. Just like hiding a channel, showing a channel can be done in a similar method.
Step 1: Hover the cursor above the Hidden channel option.
Step 2: Click on the > arrow to view the hidden channels.
Step 3: When you hover on the hidden channel name, the Show option will be visible.

How to join a team?
There are two primary ways to join a team if you haven’t directly been added to the team by the team owner. The first method is using the team code provided by the owner.
Step 1: Click on Join or create team on the top right, just below the profile settings and picture.
Step 2: Enter the code provided.
Step 3: Click on Join team.
The second method is using the link to the team.
Step 1: Click on the link provided to join the team.
Step 2: When prompted, click on Open Microsoft Teams if you use the desktop application. Click on cancel if you wish to use the web app, and click on the required option.
Once the prompt is clicked upon, the team will directly open it in the desktop or browser application.

How to rearrange Teams?
When there are more than 10-15 teams active, it can become difficult to search for the most important, as compared to a team that is used once in a while. In this case, it is always better to rearrange the teams in priority order according to one’s comfort and usability.
Step 1: Hold the cursor over the team to be moved and drag it to its desired position.
Step 2: Drop the dragged team in its new position.
After a team is moved, all the teams shift by one to the right.
