If you’re using an MSI laptop or a PC with an MSI motherboard, you would have come across something called the Nahimic companion. It’s supposed to be an audio enhancement utility that can improve your PC’s audio input and output capabilities.
In this article, we’re going over what is Nahimic and its companion app, and should you uninstall the tool?
What is Nahimic companion app?
As mentioned above, Nahimic is simply a suite of audio drivers aimed at enhancing your audio experience. The tool lets you experience up to 7.1 surround sound on your standard stereo equipment over wired, Bluetooth, USB or HDMI connections.
To control all the effects that it comes with, there’s an app called Nahimic Companion. It pops up every time you connect a new audio device to your PC and can be used to optimise the device according to the audio you’ll be listening to. There are multiple profiles for gaming, movies, communication and music that you can tune into and dial down exactly to your preferences.
The companion app even features a Sound Tracker tool that can show you where a sound has originated from in a game in a visual radar-like overlay. You can check the list of compatible games here.
