How to fix the issue?

Here are a few fixes that might help you resolve the issue coming in the Vizio sound bar:

Check the power cord and connections

It is possible that the sound bar is not getting power because the power cord is damaged or not connected properly or the sound bar is not connected to the device properly. Check the power cord and other wires that are connected to the Vizio sound bar and the device for any damage or loose connection and replace the wires if necessary.

Make sure the sound bar is connected to the Audio Out port

There are many different types of ports available on TV and all of them are made for different purposes. Most of the ports on a TV are generally inputs which means they bring audio and video in the TV, but for the soundbar, we need an output port which will send audio out of the TV. The port will be labelled as Audio Out, so make sure you have connected the sound bar to the correct port.

Set the sound bar to the correct input

When you have connected the sound bar to a TV, then the TV allows you to switch between built-in TV speakers and the sound bar you have connected to the TV. It might be possible that you have not selected the Soundbar as your input, so make sure you have selected the correct input. To set input follow the steps below:

  • Turn on the TV, and play a movie or anything on it.
  • Press and hold the Input button on the sound bar until the lights on the soundbar start flashing.
  • It will start an Auto input search and the flash indicates that it is cycling through all the input devices that are plugged into your TV.

Power cycle the Soundbar

Try power cycling the soundbar, it is one of the best solutions that solves most of the issues. To power cycle the sound bar follow the steps below:

  • Unplug the power cord of the Sound Bar.
  • Then hold down the power button on the Sound Bar for about 5 seconds.
  • Now, reconnect the power cable, and turn on the soundbar.

Factory reset the soundbar

If all the above methods do not work for you then you can try to do a factory reset on your sound bar. The steps to do a factory reset differs from model to model and they are given in the user manual that comes with the soundbar. If you don’t have the user manual then refer to the link below.

Connect it with another device

If the issue still persists then it is possible that there is some issue with the device with which you are trying to connect your soundbar. So connect your sound bar to another device and if it works then the problem is with the device.
